Music technology involves the scientific, technological, and musical ability needed to operate technical equipment used for digitally composing music. Digital audio and MIDI are the mediums mostly used to record and digitially perform music. Also often call sound or music engineering, a music technology major achieves the degree in expectance of working in modern recording studios with high-end equipment. What I like most about music technology is that it is a major that combines both the artist and the scientist within. It demands thinking in both sides of the brain. You are controlling a very emotional artform with a very logical medium. It's a very concentrated music program, but incorporates a great deal of math and science. The MT major bases out of the College of Fine, Performing & Communication Arts at Wayne State University. My instrument is Jazz Voice.
